- Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications using COBOL2 in mainframe environments.
- Work extensively with DB2 databases for data management, query optimization, and efficient processing.
- Develop and support both batch and online programs while ensuring application stability and performance.
- Conduct impact analysis, implement change requests, and support ongoing system enhancements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues while ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
- Optimize DB2 queries and application performance to improve system efficiency and reliability.
- Prepare technical documentation, unit test cases, and maintain coding standards across development activities.
- Collaborate with business analysts, testing teams, and cross-functional stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
- Participate in system integration testing (SIT), user acceptance testing (UAT), and deployment processes.
- Ensure compliance with enterprise security standards, governance policies, and development best practices.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 4–8 years of hands-on experience in mainframe application development.
- Strong expertise in COBOL2 programming and enterprise application support.
- Solid experience working with DB2 databases, query optimization, and performance tuning.
- Good knowledge of JCL (Job Control Language) and mainframe batch processing utilities.
- Experience in debugging, incident resolution, and production support activities.
- Familiarity with version control tools and software development practices in mainframe environments.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business teams in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in banking or financial services domains is considered an advantage.
- Knowledge of CICS, modernization initiatives, or Agile methodologies is a plus.
