This senior leadership role is responsible for ensuring the stability, performance, and continuous evolution of mission-critical clinical technology systems that support healthcare operations at scale. You will oversee the end-to-end reliability of clinical applications, including utilization management, network management, and claims platforms, ensuring they operate efficiently, securely, and in compliance with regulatory standards. The role blends operational leadership with strategic roadmap ownership, requiring close collaboration across technology, clinical, and business teams. You will act as the primary point of accountability for vendor performance while also driving modernization efforts, system simplification, and technical debt reduction. This is a highly cross-functional role focused on enabling scalable, high-quality healthcare operations through resilient technology ecosystems. Operating in a regulated environment, you will ensure systems support both day-to-day execution and long-term business growth.
- Own the operational stability, availability, and performance of clinical systems, including utilization management, claims, and network platforms.
- Lead incident, problem, and change management processes to minimize disruption and ensure rapid issue resolution across production systems.
- Manage vendor relationships for clinical platforms, ensuring SLA adherence, roadmap alignment, and effective issue resolution tied to business priorities.
- Oversee system upgrades, enhancements, and release governance to ensure predictable, well-tested, and operationally sound deployments.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations including HIPAA, data privacy standards, and audit requirements, proactively managing operational risk.
- Develop and execute multi-year clinical systems roadmaps aligned with business, clinical, and operational objectives.
- Drive technical debt reduction through system simplification, decommissioning, and integration improvements.
- Partner closely with shared services teams (infrastructure, security, DevOps, data, and development) to ensure scalable and standardized platform support.
- Establish service governance, performance reporting, and operational KPIs to improve system reliability and transparency.
- Support clinical operations by ensuring systems enable accurate, efficient utilization review, claims processing, and reporting workflows.
- 10+ years of experience in technology leadership, with a strong engineering or technical operations background.
- Proven experience owning enterprise-scale clinical applications, healthcare platforms, or claims/utilization systems.
- Strong operational leadership experience, including incident management, service reliability, and change governance.
- Demonstrated ability to manage third-party vendors with accountability for SLAs, delivery performance, and roadmap execution.
- Deep understanding of healthcare compliance requirements, including HIPAA and data privacy standards.
- Experience working in regulated or complex healthcare technology environments.
- Strong collaboration skills with the ability to partner across clinical, operational, and technology leadership teams.
- Ability to balance strategic roadmap planning with hands-on operational execution.
