The Manager is responsible for managing the operations of, and providing leadership for, the Peer Support, Social Enterprise, and London Coffee House programs across the organization. The Manager will work with a strengths-based and recovery-focused peer support approach and will work collaboratively with staff, leadership, and the community to enhance the mental health of our clients.

WHAT WE'RE OFFERING:

  • What you'll be making - $44.68-$45.52 per hour
    • The above are initial rates; with grid increases as per policy
    • Internal staff members will be placed on the appropriate grid based on their current rate of pay, up to Level 7 of the grid (see Intranet Policy - http://bit.ly/CompensationPolicyPg16)
  • When you'll work - 70 hours over two-week period; Hours will be Monday to Friday 8:30am-4:30pm
  • Your pension plan – Immediately eligible for optional enrollment in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP)
  • Your benefits will be – 9% in lieu of benefits

HOW YOU WILL BE MAKING A DIFFERENCE:

Program Development & Implementation:

  • Assess peer support needs within each community to develop appropriate programs and services, ensuring that programs and services adhere to best-practices and relevant standards (e.g., accreditation, government, organizational and professional standards)
  • Identify and investigate possible opportunities and partnerships to enhance peer support, social enterprise and London Coffee House programs
  • Monitor service pressures, including caseload assignments, program volumes, waitlists, as required
  • Coordinate the responsibilities of staff to ensure that there are appropriate programs and services available to each particular community; make adjustments using feedback provided by staff teams
  • Provide direction and support to staff in their work to determine needs assessments, goal setting, service coordination, crisis management, skills development, and advocacy for participants
  • Ensure documentation is completed as per organizational policies and procedures
  • Seek out and maintain knowledge of current best practices for each program focus and shares information with staff to inform decisions
  • Ensure the development of program and site procedure manuals and update them as necessary
  • As directed, coordinate and direct the expansion of services, including managing the movement of existing programs and the opening of new facilities
  • Identify and investigate possible opportunities and partnerships to enhance social enterprise programs
  • Mentor positive leadership including open communication, respect, professionalism and serves as a positive role model to employees and volunteers and to build positive staff dynamics
  • Provide mentoring and supports staff to problem solve and manage challenge client related situations

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO APPLY:

Police Vulnerable Sector Check Requirements
Successful candidates must have a Police Vulnerable Sector Check completed in the last six months. Interested applicants who reside in the City of London and are in need of a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) are encouraged to apply for one as soon as possible as PVSCs in the City of London are currently taking approximately 5 weeks to be processed and offers of employment cannot be made without receipt of a PVSC.

We require the following qualifications:

  • University or college degree/diploma in health, social, behavioural science or related field (primary proof of credentials will be required during the hiring process i.e. original degree/diploma or official transcript)
  • Valid Driver’s License: minimum G2 class
  • Access to a vehicle required for personal transportation
  • Current, satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check
  • 3-5 years’ demonstrated leadership experience
  • 3-5 years’ direct service experience in mental health and addictions services and supports

We prefer the following qualifications:

  • Lived experience of mental health and/or addiction challenges either personal or family considered an asset.
