POSITION SUMMARY:
The Data Systems Specialist is responsible for the administration, optimization, and integrity of THT’s core data platforms. This role ensures that THT’s core platforms — including Salesforce and the Health Information Exchange (HIE) – are accurate, secure, and user-friendly – helping THT and our partners build healthier communities. Working closely with the Senior Data Systems Manager, the Specialist serves as the primary point person for user support and compliance activities, while making contributions to system configuration. Simultaneously, they provide high-level technical support to THT’s Analytics and Insights Team by ensuring data pipelines are clean, validated, and ready for advanced analytics.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Customer Support- Manage internal and external "customer service" requests for data systems (including Salesforce and the HIE), ensuring timely resolution of bugs or navigation of hurdles for non-technical staff.
Provide training to internal and external system users in a variety of modalities including synchronous, and asynchronous classes and development of technical documentation.
Support onboarding of new subscribers by setting up data feeds and troubleshooting connectivity issues.
Develop and follow clearly documented procedures to ensure consistent customer experience and reliable collaboration with colleagues.
- Perform regular audits of Salesforce and HIE records to identify and resolve duplicates, formatting errors, or missing metadata.
- Assist in maintaining documentation for HIPAA compliance and data security protocols, ensuring all user access aligns with THT's strict privacy standards.
- Maintain a "Data Dictionary" and technical documentation for all system modifications to ensure THT remains audit-ready for state and federal grants.
Build infrastructure in Salesforce and other systems to capture necessary information for THT-led initiatives
Develop workflows in partnership with Project Leads to establish standard operating procedures and training materials to ensure consistent data quality
Build and maintain reports and underlying data structures that THT staff use to manage programs and data projects.
Recommend system enhancements or new technologies to improve data collection efficiency and reporting capabilities.
Deliver technical training sessions for THT staff to ensure high-quality data entry at the point of service.
Assist the Analytics and Insights Team with support tasks including data extraction, data cleaning, and basic analyses.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:
Supports other THT programs and activities as needed.
Provides periodic verbal and written reports regarding the status and progress of work.
Participates in and contributes to regular team meetings
Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED
1-3 years of related work experience
Demonstrated aptitude to acquire familiarity with a variety of data systems including Salesforce, data exchange formats, and coding languages.
Effective oral and written communication in English
Proficiency using common workplace communication and collaboration software, such as Google Workspace or Microsoft Office apps for email, chat, word processing, and spreadsheets
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree or higher
Experience working in Trenton community
Demonstrated ability to use no-code or low-code platforms such as Salesforce, AppSheet, Zapier, and/or Make.com
Familiarity with data exchange formats, such as XML or JSON, and mechanisms, such as APIs
Working knowledge of coding languages such as R, Python, or SQL
Health data experience
Customer service experience
