Tax AssociateJob DescriptionPosition SummaryWe’re looking for a highly motivated Tax Associate to join our Texas tax team. In this role, you’ll assist with tax return preparation, compliance, and planning for a variety of clients, including corporations, partnerships, and high-net-worth individuals. You’ll gain hands-on experience with Texas tax law and multistate tax issues while working alongside experienced CPAs and mentors.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare federal and Texas state tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and trustsAssist in the preparation of tax extensions, estimated payments, and tax projectionsConduct basic tax research on Texas and multistate issues using tools like CCH or BNASupport clients during IRS and Texas Franchise Tax Board (FTB) audits or correspondenceMaintain organized and accurate client documentation and workpapersStay up to date on federal and Texas tax law changesCollaborate with team members in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentUtilize tax preparation software (e.g., Lacerte) to process returnsQualificationsRequired:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related fieldCPA-eligible or actively pursuing CPA licensure in TexasUnderstanding of federal and Texas state tax regulationsStrong attention to detail and time management skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel)Preferred:Internship or 1+ year of experience in public accounting or tax preparationFamiliarity with Texas tax issues (FTB, CDTFA, or multistate filings)Experience with tax software such as Lacerte
