A Better Opportunity
Our Senior Manager, Public Relations will lead Better's communications efforts with day-to-day operations, collaborating on daily tasks, monthly reporting and larger strategic goals. This role will include diverse responsibilities, with opportunities to work in internal communications and external media relations and participate in writing and growth initiatives. This is a full-time, on-site role reporting into our New York City office.
The Senior Manager, Public Relations will lead day-to-day external communications efforts and manage agency partnerships to elevate Betters brand and media presence. This role partners closely with executive leadership to shape messaging and ensure alignment across press, product, and growth initiatives.
This is a hands-on role for a strategic operator who can translate business priorities into clear, compelling narratives while managing external PR partners effectively.
Responsibilities - Lead external communications efforts to strengthen Betters brand and public presence
- Develop and execute press materials, media pitches, executive talking points, and messaging that align with company priorities
- Serve as primary point of contact for external PR agency partners, managing deliverables and ensuring alignment with overall strategy
- Coordinate announcements and external communications related to product launches, partnerships, and company milestones
- Support proactive media outreach and reactive media engagement in collaboration with agency and executive leadership
- Monitor and report on media coverage and performance, using insights to inform future external communications strategy
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners (Product, Growth, Marketing) to ensure consistency of external messaging and positioning
- Assist with issues and reputation management escalation with agency and leadership as needed
- 5-8+ years in corporate communications, PR, or media relations required
- Experience managing an external agency relationship
- Experience supporting executive-level messaging
- Strong writing and editing skills
- Experience in fintech, financial services, or other regulated industries preferred
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-visibility environment
- Strong judgment and discretion
- Interest in finance, tech, real estate and the homeownership space
- Confident in managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and thoroughness
- Strong skills in social media, digital platforms and current trends
- A dynamic, enthusiastic individual who can take both initiative and direction
- A team player who enjoys collaboration
- A curious mind with a strong desire to learn
