Pediatrician at Akicita Federal, LLC – Chinle, Arizona

The Pediatrician will support the mission of the Indian Health Service (IHS) by providing uninterrupted, comprehensive pediatric medical care to American Indian and Alaska Native patients. This role encompasses both outpatient and inpatient clinical services at CCHCF and potentially other facilities within the Navajo IHS Area.

Clinical Care: Provide comprehensive outpatient and inpatient professional pediatric medical services in accordance with established medical standards.

Emergency & Acute Care: Care for critically ill patients in the Emergency Room (ER), Pediatric Care Unit (PCU), and Obstetric Care Unit (OCU) when consulted.

Outpatient Clinic: Conduct clinics to observe patient symptoms, review medications/dietary plans, and modify treatment regimens as required.

Surgical Assistance: Perform or assist in minor and outpatient pediatric surgeries.

Telemedicine: Provide telemedicine services, including video and phone follow-up visits, as requested.

Coordination of Care: Manage referrals and coordinate with specialists both within and outside the IHS to ensure continuity of care.

Documentation: Utilize the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system to document patient data, dictate reports, and maintain accurate medical records.

On-Call Duties: Participate in weeknight and weekend on-call/standby rotations as scheduled.

Education: Completion of thirty-six (36) months of Pediatrics Residency Training in the United States.

Experience: A minimum of six (6) months of experience in the pediatrics specialty. Candidates should have no lapse in practice longer than six months leading up to the assignment.

Licensure: Must possess a current, valid, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in any U.S. State or Territory.

DEA Certification: Must have a valid, unrestricted Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration with schedules II-V.

Board Status: Must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Pediatrics
