We have an exciting opportunity for a Test Operations Lead for Gateway Lab GRAIL to join the team with Aerodyne Industries.
The Test Operations Lead for Gateway Lab GRAIL will:
- The Test Operations Lead will be essential to the success of the Gateway Ready Avionics Integration Lab (GRAIL) which will certify the avionics and software for all modules of the Gateway Program which will return to the moon
- This position may possibly rotate to support Second Shift Hours (3 pm-11 pm) during testing operations in the future
- Support project group with design of new and existing avionic testing hardware
- Coordinate with GRAIL Scheduling, GRAIL Operations and Maintenance (O&M), Safety Quality and Assurance (QA/QE), and other groups as required to plan and execute testing activities
- Support Test Readiness Reviews (URR/TRR)
- Ensure QA/QE support is scheduled to support testing
- Perform pre-task briefs
- Execute GRAIL validation testing, acting as Test Operations Engineer
- Retain test result documentation and ensure archiving of as run test procedures
- Contribute to Post Test Reports (PTR)
- Works with test community to develop the top-level test procedures in DOORS Next Generation which will be transformed to GRAIL test checkout procedures
- Perform ground testing and flight operations testing for hardware with end item documentation of the GRAIL
- Use Linux based workstations and scripts for switch layout of the lab
- Support integration testing for verification and validation activities of hardware
- Should understand and support project testing schedule and produce required documentation
- Should review and track engineering deliverables for project status reporting
- Should understand CAD drawings and large-scale system configurations
- Perform other duties as required
- Must have good communication and organizational skills and the ability to work in a team environment

Qualifications – External
Requisition Qualifications:

- Typically requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in Engineering and normally possess 5- 10 years of related experience. License and certification may be required.
- BS degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or IT from an accredited school
- Understanding of electrical, mechanical and power systems
- Understanding of lab operations and documentation
- Experience in a Test Operations environment
Requisition Preferences:
- Knowledge of Avionic Hardware and/or Flight Processes/Paperwork is a plus
- Past experience with NASA avionics is a plus

Essential Functions
Work Environment
Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).

Attendance
Regular attendance in accordance with the established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
