REMCAN is seeking Fleet Shuttle Drivers to join our growing workforce in Barrie, Ontario. This position is part-time and on-call and will sometimes require travel throughout the province.
Job Summary:
Fleet Shuttle Drivers work primarily in our Shuttle department. REMCAN's Shuttle department is responsible for the safe and efficient shuttling of company vehicles, equipment, and parts to and from various REMCAN and client offices/shops and project sites. The Fleet Shuttle Driver role is designed for candidates with a history of safe driving who are seeking a flexible, part-time position.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Shuttle vehicles and equipment from location to location as required.
- Pick up and deliver parts for the Mechanical and Supply Chain departments.
- Hot shot parts for the Mechanical department to facilitate emergency repairs to equipment in the field.
- Pick up employees from the airport and drop them off at various project locations or REMCAN offices.
- Complete required regulatory documentation accurately, such as logbooks and pre-trip inspections.
- Operate company vehicles and hi-rail trucks.
- Maintain REMCAN policies and guidelines at all times.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years professional driving and relevant experience.
- Valid Class G driver's license.
- Valid Class DZ driver's license is an asset.
- Experience operating a vehicle with manual transmission (18-speed).
- Produce a clean 3-year commercial driver's abstract.
- Pass eRailSafe Canada workforce compliance system.
- Complete pre-employment medical which includes screening for alcohol and drugs (including marijuana and THC).
- First Aid and previous safety training are considered assets (WHMIS, Fall Protection, Confined Space Entry).
- Demonstrate an ability to work unsupervised, as well as in teams.
- Work all types of shifts as required, including weekends and night shifts.
- Work in various weather conditions all year round.
- Travel to remote work locations as required.
