Shipping Manager at Hollands Family Cheese LLC – Thorp, Wisconsin

Marieke Gouda is known nationwide for award-winning, handcrafted Dutch cheeses made right here in Thorp, Wisconsin. We are looking for a Shipping Manager to lead our outbound logistics operations and ensure every order—from wholesale pallets to e-commerce packages—arrives accurately, efficiently, and on time.

What You’ll Do

Lead Daily Shipping Operations

• Oversee all outbound shipments for wholesale, online, and internal orders
• Coordinate with Packaging and Aging teams to ensure product readiness
• Manage picking, packing, labeling, and palletizing workflows
• Ensure correct temperature-control methods (ice packs, insulation, etc.) for perishable goods

Carrier & Logistics Coordination

• Maintain strong relationships with UPS, FedEx, freight carriers, and logistics partners
• Optimize shipping routes, rates, and methods
• Schedule pickups and ensure timely dispatch
• Troubleshoot and resolve shipping delays or delivery issues

Inventory & Compliance

• Monitor finished-goods inventory and ensure accurate order pulling
• Maintain shipping logs, batch records, and compliance documentation
• Support SQF, HACCP, and food safety standards for all outbound cheese

Team Leadership

• Supervise, schedule, and train shipping staff
• Promote accuracy, productivity, and high-quality service
• Support cross-training within warehouse and packaging teams

• 2+ years experience in shipping, logistics, or warehouse management (food industry preferred)
• Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills
• Experience with perishable products is a plus
• Familiarity with shipping/inventory software (ShipStation, QuickBooks, Excel, etc.)
• Understanding of HACCP, SQF, GMP, and food safety requirements
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in cold environments as needed

Schedule & Work Environment

• Full-time, Monday–Friday
• Occasional weekend or extended hours during peak shipping seasons
• Warehouse/cold storage environment requiring mobility and physical activity
