Job Overview:

Are you an energetic and ambitious HR professional with a passion for recruitment and talent management? Our Cape Town-based HR department is seeking a highly organised HR and Talent Acquisition Specialist to lead end-to-end hiring, onboarding, and employee engagement initiatives, while supporting the broader HR function in a dynamic corporate environment.

The successful candidate will lead end-to-end recruitment and onboarding, while partnering with stakeholders to ensure HR operations run smoothly and compliantly. Experience in corporate recruitment is essential, and exposure to financial services will be highly advantageous.

This role is ideal for someone who is friendly, professional, approachable, and detail-oriented, with the ability to work well under pressure and collaborate effectively within a team.

You’re perfect for this position if you:
  • Demonstrate strong end-to-end recruitment experience with proven talent management capability.
  • Have an HR-related degree and at least three (3) to five (5) years of relevant HR experience, including a solid understanding of HR policies, employment law, and industry trends.
  • Possess solid payroll knowledge with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Think strategically while executing effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Are passionate about creating a positive work environment and fostering employee engagement.
  • Can work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Are tech-savvy with experience using HR software (e.g., Rippling or similar) and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and employees at all levels.
  • Demonstrate high levels of professionalism, integrity, and discretion when managing confidential information.
  • Are proactive, self-motivated, and eager to learn and grow in your HR career.
  • Are meticulous, solutions-focused, and result-driven.

Extra points if you have:

  • Experience with SETA – WSP and ATR submissions
  • Experience with Employment Equity Reporting
  • Exposure to employer branding or recruitment marketing initiatives
Your role and responsibilities:

Among other tasks, your main responsibilities will include:

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

  • Managing end-to-end recruitment across multiple roles, offices and business units.
  • Building talent pipelines and employer branding strategies.
  • Partnering with hiring managers to deliver efficient and high-quality hiring outcomes.
  • Overseeing onboarding and ensuring a strong employee experience from offer to induction.

Employee Engagement & Retention

  • Facilitating employee retention strategies and analysing turnover trends.
  • Coordinating engagement, wellness, and recognition initiatives.
  • Gathering and acting on employee feedback to strengthen culture and morale.

Payroll & Compliance

  • Managing payroll inputs and processing.
  • Ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely submission of all payroll data.
  • Resolving payroll queries and supporting audits where required.
  • Maintaining up-to-date HR policies and ensuring compliance with labour laws.
  • Coordinating health and safety initiatives and maintaining accurate records.

Learning & Development

  • Maintaining accurate training records to support the compilation and submission of the WSP and ATR.
  • Facilitating and implementing learning and development initiatives aligned to business needs.
  • Conducting training needs analysis and tracking training participation and outcomes.

General HR Support

  • Providing guidance and support on employee relations matters, escalating complex issues where required.
  • Maintaining accurate HR data and reporting to support decision-making.
  • Supporting performance management, succession planning, and organisational development.
  • Ensuring HR policies and practices are consistently applied and compliant with legislation.
