We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Locate Technician to join our team in Topeka, KS. The Locate Technician will be responsible for identifying and marking underground utility lines to ensure safe excavation and construction activities. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

• Locate and mark underground utilities including gas, water, electric, and telecommunications lines using specialized equipment.
• Review and interpret utility maps, blueprints, and other documentation to accurately identify utility locations.
• Communicate with contractors, excavators, and other stakeholders to provide clear and accurate locate information.
• Maintain accurate records of locate activities and report any discrepancies or issues.
• Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a safe working environment.
• Respond promptly to locate requests and complete assignments within designated timeframes.
• Operate GPS and other locating technology to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in utility locating, construction, or related field preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret maps, blueprints, and technical drawings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with GPS technology.

This position involves outdoor work, often in varying weather conditions. The Locate Technician will spend significant time walking, standing, and using locating equipment. Safety is a top priority, and adherence to all safety guidelines is required.
