IT Systems & Support Engineer (Hybrid AD / M365)Department: Information Technology
Reports To: Senior IT Manager (Remote)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $50,000 – $60,000 USD
Position SummaryWe are seeking a technically capable and growth-oriented IT Systems & Support Engineer to serve as the primary on-site IT presence for our U.S. office. This role blends hands-on user support with increasing exposure to systems administration responsibilities in a hybrid Active Directory / Entra ID / Microsoft 365 environment. The ideal candidate is comfortable working independently, capable of structured troubleshooting, and interested in growing toward server and network administration over time.
On-Site Technical Operations· Serve as the sole on-site IT resource for approximately 100 users.
· Provide Tier 1–Tier 2 support for Windows endpoints, M365 services, VPN access, and application access requests.
· Manage onboarding and offboarding in hybrid AD / Entra environments.
· Support Intune-managed endpoints and device compliance policies.
· Maintain conference rooms, shared workspaces, and office IT infrastructure.
· Maintain accurate documentation within the ticketing system.
Hybrid Identity & M365 Administration· Support user lifecycle management across Active Directory and Entra ID.
· Troubleshoot identity synchronization and authentication issues.
· Assist with Conditional Access and MFA enforcement.
· Manage M365 licensing and access control assignments.
Infrastructure Exposure & Growth Path· Assist with VM provisioning and maintenance.
· Support U.S.-based server and network infrastructure.
· Participate in patch management and system monitoring activities.
· Gradually assume responsibility for Group Policy, server management, and networking tasks.
Security & Operational Balance· Support implementation of security controls while maintaining operational efficiency.
· Communicate risk and trade-offs clearly when necessary.
· Identify and escalate security gaps or misconfigurations.
Cross-Team Collaboration· Coordinate with global IT counterparts on shared services.
· Clarify ownership boundaries to prevent operational gaps.
· Maintain professional communication across distributed teams.
Required Qualifications· 2+ years of experience in IT support or systems support.
· Working knowledge of Windows desktop administration.
· Experience with hybrid AD / Entra ID environments.
· Experience supporting Microsoft 365.
· Basic understanding of TCP/IP networking concepts.
· Experience with endpoint management tools (Intune preferred).
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to work independently with limited in-person supervision.
Preferred Qualifications· Exposure to virtualization platforms (Hyper-V, VMware, or Azure).
· Experience with Group Policy and Conditional Access.
· Basic PowerShell knowledge.
· CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar certifications.
· Demonstrated interest in systems administration or infrastructure engineering.

Successful candidates will demonstrate ownership, technical curiosity, and the ability to operate independently in a hybrid environment.
