Laborer Norfolk at Versability Resources Inc – Norfolk, Virginia

We are currently seeking a reliable and dedicated individual to join our team as a Laborer Ship Provisioning.
As a Laborer, you will be responsible for lifting and loading, organizing supplies and equipment on military ships in the Norfolk area. You will work closely with the provisioning team to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

This position is an ability one contract requiring at least 75% of employees on this site have a significant disability. Defined as "A severe physical or mental impairment —from an injury, disease, or congenital defect — which so limits the person’s functional capabilities that the individual is unable to engage in normal competitive employment over an extended period of time."
Documentation will be required upon offer of employment.

Responsibilities:

-Assist with loading and unloading provisions unto various naval ships.
-Ensure accurate counting and recording of all incoming and outgoing items.
- Sort, organize, and label supplies and equipment in designated storage areas.
-Pack and secure supplies for safe transportation.
- Prepare orders and validate accuracy against shipping instructions and documentation.
-Conduct inventory checks to maintain accurate stock levels and assist with inventory management.
-Complete and maintain paperwork and records related to shipping, receiving, and inventory control.
- Follow proper safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
-Collaborate with team members and management to ensure a smooth operation.
- Provide assistance in other tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent qualification is preferred.
- Proven work experience as a laborer or in a similar role is a plus.
- Physically fit and able to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of inventory management and maintenance procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable and punctual.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
