About the Role At Firestorm, we are building autonomous aerial systems that operate where they are needed most, when they are needed most. Our mission requires speed, ingenuity, and a relentless commitment to engineering excellence. Firestorm is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to support our Engineering team drive the execution and coordination across the full development lifecycle of our unmanned aerial systems. You’ll help turn innovative designs into reality by supporting prototyping, testing, data collection, and coordinating cross-functional engineering efforts. This is a 12 week internship at our Headquarters office in San Diego, CA. Required Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a bachelors degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems Engineering, or related field
- U.S. Person status (Citizen or Permanent Resident) required due to ITAR regulations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to coordinate across multiple teams and projects.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environment.
- Experience in project coordination or support.
- Ability to operate in fast paced, iterative development environments
- Bachelors degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems Engineering, or related field
- Technical background in mechanical, electrical, aerospace, or systems engineering preferred.
- Hands-on experience with lab equipment, prototyping, or assembly work is a plus.
- Acquainted with DoD or Aerospace
- Based at our Headquarters in San Diego, CA
- Ability to work in-office & flexible hours as needed
