About This Position
The Dean of Students oversees student conduct, discipline, and overall school climate to ensure a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment. This role involves implementing school-wide behavioral policies, supporting social-emotional development, collaborating with teachers, staff, and families, and analyzing data to guide interventions and improve student outcomes. The Dean of Students serves as a resource for students and families while promoting a collaborative school culture.
Compensation and Benefits
- Full-time, Exempt

- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Administration, or related field (Master’s degree preferred)
- Previous experience in an educational setting, preferably in a leadership or administrative role (minimum three (3) years)
- Strong understanding of child development, behavior management, and student support strategies
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with students, staff, and families
Duties and Responsibilities
- Oversee student conduct and discipline, ensuring adherence to school policies and a safe, respectful environment.
- Implement, monitor, and enforce school-wide behavioral expectations and interventions.
- Address student safety and welfare concerns, including investigating incidents, holding meetings with parents, documenting findings, contacting appropriate authorities, and adhering to legal requirements and regulations.
- Develop and implement programs and initiatives that promote positive behavior, conflict resolution, and social-emotional learning among students.
- Monitor and analyze student performance, behavior, and attendance data to identify areas for improvement and develop targeted intervention strategies.
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and administration to support student academic, social, and emotional growth.
- Serve as a resource for students and families, providing guidance, support, and conflict mediation as needed.
- Monitor attendance trends and oversee truancy interventions.
- Facilitate communication between students, parents, and school administration to resolve concerns and maintain a positive school culture.
- Stay informed on best practices in education and student support, implementing relevant strategies within the school.
- Perform other duties as assigned by administration.
- Monitor and respond to Safe2Tell submissions and other student safety concerns.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

- Ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds occasionally
- Exposure to routine school environments including classrooms, playgrounds, and common spaces
- Mental functions include analyzing, evaluating, instructing, planning, and communicating
