Overview

Lutron is seeking a System Sales Engineer (SSE) based in Mexico City to support its sales efforts by addressing technical challenges, educating customers and partners, and serving as a trusted technical resource. The role requires strong knowledge of Lutron systems, integration practices, industry standards, and emerging technologies within the lighting and intelligent building systems market.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct technical and product launch training / CEUs on new products, systems, features, market trends, etc. for Sales & Pre-sales team, specifiers, integrators, customers,
  • Prepare & upkeep of technical documentation - such as competitive analysis, brand standards, IT requirements, App notes etc.
  • Support new products and feature release through field testing via early adopters and beta sites.
  • Become customer's voice through regional feedback collection & active participation in all ISSE feedback sessions with Product managers, core reviews, SSE summits.
  • Customer demonstrations & in-field mock-ups for any custom request of Sequence of Operation or device/system functionality. Support CCR, API request, cyber security and IT compliance questionnaire requests from projects for your region.
  • Continuous research & self-coaching to become subject matter expert (generalists).
  • Joint sales call for technical meetings & presentations for key specifiers/customers/key accounts.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, lighting design, or a related technical discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the lighting industry, with exposure to lighting controls, architectural lighting, or adjacent building technologies preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both customers and internal cross-functional teams.
  • Proven ability to present technical solutions clearly and confidently to a wide range of audiences, including designers, engineers, integrators, and end customers.
  • Advanced technical writing skills, capable of producing clear documentation, application notes, and customer-facing technical guidance.
  • Valid driver’s license with willingness to travel approximately 50% within Mexico and up to 25% across Latin America, supporting customer engagements, trainings, and project activities.
  • Fluent Spanish and English required.
  • Experience working across multiple Latin American markets or multicultural environments is a plus.
