About This Position
POSITION OVERVIEW (non-exempt):
Provides as needed support to the Director of Quality on defined quality, safety, and performance improvement projects. Requires strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to step in and assist with project work, data review/submission, regulatory readiness, and departmental support during peak workload periods or special initiatives. Hours vary based on project needs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current RN license from accredited program
- Minimum 3 years clinical nursing experience
- Must maintain required BCLS and Mandatory Reporter per hospital policy.
- Excellent written and oral communication, problem solving, and prioritization skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort with data tools.
ACCOUNTABILITY:
Reports to Quality and Infection Control Director
DIRECT REPORTS:
None
POSITION-SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
Project & Initiative Support
- Assist with specific projects on an as‑needed basis.
- Support project planning, data gathering, workflow mapping, and progress tracking.
- Prepare project materials.
- Collaborate with and communicate project updates to stakeholders as directed.
Quality & Performance Improvement
- Participate in quality improvement activities using evidence‑based methodologies (e.g., PDSA).
- Assist with regulatory readiness activities as needed.
- Support data collection, entry, validation, and interpretation for quality metrics.
Clinical Resource
- Provide nursing insight to quality and safety initiatives.
- Assist with development of educational materials or brief in-service sessions as assigned.
- Collaborate with clinical teams to support implementation of best practices.
Data & Documentation
- Maintain accurate project documentation.
- Support reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure confidentiality and integrity of all quality related data.
Other duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Works in a well-illuminated, climate-controlled environment
- May encounter hazardous chemicals or treatment modalities.
- Possibility exists of exposure to communicable diseases.
- Subject to frequent interruptions.
- May include out-of-town travel to educational events.
- Involvement inpatient care may result in unavoidable work-related illness or injury.
- Involvement in checking in/moving of supplies may result in unavoidable work-related injury.
- Must be constantly alert for patient/family emergency situations.
