Overview
Lutron Electronics is seeking a Senior Supply Chain Project Engineer to join our team in Cartago, CR. In this role, you will be a key part of our operations team and grow your skills while applying industry best practices to our supply chain function. Your contributions will help to maintain our market position as the world leader in smart lighting and shading systems.
A successful Senior Supply Chain Project Engineer will possess both analytical and clear communication skills to interact with global manufacturers and with the Austin production team to ensure on-time delivery of products to meet or exceed customers’ delivery and quality expectations
Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end process optimization and continuous improvement initiatives across planning, logistics, purchasing, and warehouse operations
Drive Lean initiatives, and root cause analysis efforts to improve KPIs including ETS, OTD, inventory accuracy, and logistics cost
Support supply chain digitalization and automation, maximizing effective use of SAP planning and execution functionalities
Benchmark and implement best practices to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall supply chain performance
Identify, qualify, and localize suppliers in partnership with Procurement and Engineering to improve cost, lead time, and supply resilience
Develop business cases and cost-benefit analyses for supplier transitions and operational improvement initiatives
Act as a change agent by coaching teams on Lean and problem-solving methods and communicating progress, risks, and opportunities to plant leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Engineering, or related Engineering Discipline
- 2-4 years of related work experience
- Experience in supplier development and material qualification projects.
- Proficiency in MS Excel is required. Proficiency in MS Access, SQL and other reporting tools is a plus
- Proven track record in process improvement initiatives using Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies.
- Strong knowledge and hands-on experience with ERP systems.
- Experience in procurement or material management is a plus.
- Certifications in Lean, Six Sigma, APICS, or Supply Chain Management are a plus.
- Fluent in written and verbal English and Spanish.
