Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team in an onsite role. This position is critical to maintaining the accuracy, compliance, and continuity of our payroll operations. With a complex and deadline-driven payroll cycle, you will play an essential role in supporting weekly payroll processing and ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.
This is not simply a support role. The successful candidate will quickly become a key contributor to payroll operations and help strengthen our internal expertise.
Position Description :
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly multistate and union payroll for 200+ employees in a deadline-driven environment
- Review, collect, and verify timecards to ensure accuracy prior to payroll processing
- Ensure payroll accuracy and compliance with applicable wage and labor regulations
- Prepare and submit certified payroll and prevailing wage reports
- Administer collective bargaining agreements and union reporting requirements
- Manage payroll tax payments and filings (monthly, quarterly, and annually)
- Process garnishments, child support, and other payroll deductions
- Review payroll data for discrepancies and resolve issues promptly
- Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation
- Support compliance audits and reporting requirements
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth and efficient payroll operations
Position Requirements :
What You Bring
We’re looking for someone who enjoys working with numbers, thrives in a fast-moving environment, and takes pride in keeping things organized and accurate.
- 3–5 years of payroll experience
- Experience with construction or union payroll (a big plus!)
- Knowledge of Prevailing Wage and Certified Payroll requirements
- A strong eye for detail and accuracy
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex payroll situations
- Comfort working in a deadline-driven environment with weekly payroll cycles
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Experience in Viewpoint Vista a plus!
