What You'll Do:
- Provide physical therapy treatments to residents under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist in accordance with state practice acts.
- Assist the Physical Therapist with evaluations, reassessments, and development of treatment plans including problem lists and short- and long-term goals.
- Deliver individual, group, and supervised therapy sessions as outlined in the treatment plan and monitor residents’ responses to interventions.
- Communicate with the Physical Therapist and interdisciplinary team to coordinate care and adjust treatment plans when needed.
- Educate residents, families, and caregivers on therapy techniques, adaptive equipment, orthotics, and prosthetics.
- Complete accurate documentation, maintain required licensure/credentials, and record billable treatment time in compliance with department standards.
- Maintain productivity, safety, infection control, confidentiality, and professional relationships while supporting quality assurance initiatives and other assigned duties.
What You'll Need:
- Associate's degree in physical therapy from an accredited program
- Current state licensure or ability to sit for board certification prior to start date
- Ability to clearly and concisely communicate both orally and in writing with all levels of management staff
- Ability to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects, equipment and/or residents
- Must be able to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, bend or crouch regularly
- Must be able to use hands to manipulate tools, equipment, or controls
- Must be able to reach with hands and arms, balance, lift and perform medium to maximum transfer assists with residents
- Must have visual and hearing acuity sufficient to assess resident safety and the ability of members
- Proficient in reading, writing, and following instructions in English
