About This Position

Description:

Responsible to the Help Desk Service Coordinator for performing computer hardware and software deployment, troubleshooting, repairs, and technical support for faculty, staff, and students.

  • Perform new computer installations and computer redeployments.
  • Use software deployment tools to install operating system and application software on desktop and notebook computers. Configure systems to integrate with Central’s Active Directory.
  • Troubleshoot and repair computers, peripherals, and other campus technology.
  • Assist with classroom technology technical support.
  • Provide support to faculty, staff, and students. Escalate or refer issues and requests to other IT team members or vendors when appropriate.
  • Use ticketing system to enter, track and communicate work in progress and work accomplished.
  • Follow established procedures for labeling equipment and tracking hardware inventory.
  • Assist in the user account/identity management maintenance.
  • Work with supervisor to determine task priorities and assist other Help Desk staff as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Post-high school education in computer-related field required, associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Work experience with Windows hardware/software setup and troubleshooting required, along with a general understanding of computer networking principles.
  • Experience with Macs, software deployment tools, and Active Directory helpful.
  • Strong customer service and communication skills.
  • Occasional weekend or evening hours will be required to support special campus events.
