Adult Residential Direct Support Professional

Latham Centers, a world-renowned leader in supporting individuals with complex special needs, including Prader-Willi syndrome, is seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals (DSPs). In this role, you will provide personalized care, support daily living skills, and foster community engagement for adults in our residential programs.
Locations: Yarmouth, Sandwich, Wareham, Brewster, Dennis, Plymouth, and Barnstable
Compensation: $20.00-$21.50 per hour (based on experience)

In this role, you will provide personalized care, support daily living skills, and foster community engagement for adults in our residential programs.

Schedule: Full-Time or Part-Time

Many of our leaders began their careers as DSPs, so there’s plenty of opportunity for growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve meals, ensuring dietary restrictions and menu guidelines are followed.
- Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and eating.
- Administer medications (including PRN), follow all MAP procedures, and monitor medical needs.
- Conduct awake/asleep fire drills, provide therapeutic crisis intervention when necessary, and implement all support, behavior, and medical plans.
- Ensure cleanliness of the home and assist residents with maintaining personal and shared spaces.
- Transport individuals and support them in activities like personal shopping, banking, and recreational outings.
- Work effectively with staff, supervisors, and outside providers to ensure individuals’ progress and well-being.
- Complete required daily documentation in Therap, attend all mandatory trainings and supervisions, and maintain up-to-date certifications.
- Support individuals with any additional responsibilities as requested by a supervisor.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid driver’s license
- Willingness to learn and commitment to helping adults with disabilities
- Preferred: One year of experience working with individuals with special needs or in an adult residential environment
- Ability to intervene in extreme behavior situations to ensure safety
