JOB TITLE: Facilities Manager
FSLA STATUS: Full-time/Exempt
SCHEDULED HOURS: Work hours are 8a-5p and as needed
Full time – 40 hours a week
REPORTS TO: Executive Director
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
The Facilities Manager maintains grounds, facilities, and equipment (office and
security) in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with current applicable
federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, company policies
and procedures, and directions, to assure that a successful maintenance
program is maintained at all times for resident comfort, convenience and safety
and for efficient facility operation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
? Effectively plans repair work and performs repairs in a timely manner.
? Conducts proactive and routine inspections of premises and equipment.
? Performs preventative, routine maintenance and general carpentry.
? Diagnoses and corrects mechanical issues.
? Performs general repairs that do not require a specialized technician. Examples may include
painting/drywall/finishing work, repairing doors, windows, trim and other building fixtures.
? Repairs, installs and/or replaces household appliances and fixtures such as refrigerators, dishwashers,
ovens, washer/dryers, and hot water heaters.
? Repairs, installs and/or replaces household electrical items such as switches, breakers, fuses, ceiling
lights/fans, garage door openers and electrical outlets.
? Performs plumbing maintenance (such as replacement or repair of leaks in drains or faucets, unclogging
of drains and toilets, maintaining garbage disposals, dishwashers, pipes and washing machines).
? Service heating and cooling units/systems, as specified by the manufacturer and in compliance with
established policies and procedures.
? Performs routine maintenance on grounds, parking areas, driveways, etc., by cutting, trimming, raking,
sweeping, snow removal etc., as necessary/directed.
? Orders supplies and materials needed for repairs and maintenance.
? Performs emergency/unscheduled repairs as needed.
? Oversees contractors when professional repairs are necessary.
? Operates various types of tools and equipment safely and efficiently.
? Maintains a clean job site; pick up tools and equipment and secure job site each day to eliminate
potential hazards.
? Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed.
? Follows-up on completed maintenance to ensure satisfaction.
? Performs other related duties as assigned.
Cleaning & Environmental Standards Responsibilities
The Facilities Manager is responsible for ensuring that all C-U at Home buildings maintain a clean, sanitary, safe,
and trauma-informed environment that supports client dignity, staff effectiveness, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities include:
? Develop and maintain cleaning standards for residential, office, and shared spaces.
? Coordinate daily, weekly, and deep cleaning schedules across the facility.
? Oversee cleaning supply inventory, ordering, and storage.
? Ensure bathrooms, kitchens, common areas, and high-touch surfaces meet sanitation expectations.
? Support room turnover processes to prepare spaces for new client occupancy.
? Provide guidance and coordination with Life Skills staff related to client participation in cleaning routines
when applicable.
? Monitor cleanliness through regular facility walkthroughs and inspections.
? Address sanitation concerns promptly to prevent health or safety risks.
? Coordinate with external cleaning vendors or contractors when utilized.
? Ensure appropriate use and storage of cleaning chemicals in compliance with safety standards.
? Promote trauma-informed environmental practices, including:
o Predictable routines
o Respectful shared spaces
o Clutter reduction
o Odor control
o Lighting and comfort considerations
Common Work Environment:
? May be subject to minor injury from cuts, bruises, etc.
? Will be required to climb stairs and ladders.
? Exposure to dust, fumes and/or odors.
? May encounter chemicals, possibly of a toxic or caustic nature.
? Work environment will be indoors in addition to outdoors with varying weather conditions.
Requirements:Qualifications:
? Skilled in the use of hand and power tools.
? Ability to take apart machines, equipment, or devices to remove and replace defective parts.
? Ability to check blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary.
? Ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches.
? Experience with precision measuring instruments or electronic testing devices.
? Experience performing routine maintenance.
? Strong organizational and follow up skills.
? Attentive to detail.
? Professional presentation and attitude; provide prompt, courteous and respectful service.
? Ability to maintain focus while working individually; must effectively self-organize daily schedule and
make efficient use of own time and co-worker’s time.
Required Experience, Education and/or Training:
? A minimum high school diploma or GED.
? Possess valid Driver’s License and auto insurance. Periodic verification may be required.
? Combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the
duties of the position.
? Basic working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
? Experience working with tools, including hand and electrical tools
? Knowledge of home repairs.
Physical Requirements, including, but not limited to:
? Lifting/Carrying above 50 lbs.
? Stooping/Bending/Kneeling/Squatting/Crouching/Crawling
? Climbing/Balancing
