SOL Engineering Services, LLC is searching for an Engineering Technician III with a strong background as a heavy equipment operator and experience with instrumentation systems to conduct surveys.

Requirements

• Must be a U.S. citizen
• Able to pass a background investigation (financial and criminal)
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security clearance
• Must be certified to operate heavy equipment such as a: backhoe, dozer, track hoe, excavator, forklift, graders, and front loaders
• Valid driver’s license
• Apply basic analytical skills, scientific methods, or operational processes to perform tasks
• Experience with instrumentation systems and the ability to conduct detailed surveys
• Examine site conditions and conduct soil analyses
• Document results via photographs, physical survey, and/or in a field book
• Obtain measurements of soil cross sections and input into electronic format
• Ability to emplace, spread, and compact soil
• Perform fine grading and retrograde the area
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Excellent verbal and written communication
• May require professional presentation skills
• Adhere to all safety and health objectives, policies and procedures
• Ability to work flexible hours and overtime as needed
• Work will be performed outside
• Travel required

Qualifications

• Associate degree in a related technical field
• Two years related experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree
• Minimum of three years operating heavy equipment
• Crane operator license and/or experience is preferred
