Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a Project Engineer – Bridge to join their dynamic team in Albany, NY. In this role, you will be responsible for complex engineering design tasks, project execution, and cross-functional collaboration while mentoring junior staff.

You will work on bridge, retaining wall, and transportation infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project timelines.

Compensation:
Our client offers a competitive compensation package ranging from $85,000 to $115,000, with a $2,000 sign on bonus. Salary range is commensurate with your experience, education, certifications, and skill set. This reflects a strong commitment to attracting top-tier talent for this pivotal role.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform engineering design calculations and translate design criteria into completed projects.
• Work on projects including bridges (prestressed concrete and steel plate girder), retaining walls, and box culverts.
• Develop technical reports, investigatory studies, and structural detailing.
• Ensure compliance with client standards, DOT regulations, and engineering codes.
• Assist Project Managers with contract development, cost proposals, and technical scope of services.
• Lead project tasks, monitor budgets, and ensure timely delivery within cost parameters.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and stakeholders to resolve design challenges.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering.
• 5+ years of progressive experience in bridge design and transportation engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• DOT experience is mandatory.
• Prior experience in consulting engineering or construction industry preferred.
• Strong proficiency in engineering principles, design software, and project execution.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including report writing.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
