Nurse Practitioner OR Physician Assistant Surgical Services - Kingston, NY at Westchester Medical Center – Valhalla, New York

Summary:

Our dynamic surgical services at HealthAlliance Hospital in Kingston, NY is seeking Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, to join our expanding and innovative team. In this position, the PA/NP will work alongside experienced physician and PA colleagues managing a variety of surgical patients, inclusive but not limited to Trauma, Vascular, and Acute Care Surgery, throughout the course of their hospital stay.

Responsibilities:

• Performing medical evaluations, treatment, follow-up and consultations for diverse trauma and acute care surgical patients.
• PAs are able to 1st Assist in the Operating Room on open and minimally invasive procedures
• Delivering direct patient care as part of a collaborative patient care team.
• Gaining a working competency of procedures inclusive of, but not limited to, central line placement/removal, insertion/removal of chest tubes, and arterial lines.

• Candidates must be board certified as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner and possess or be eligible to obtain an applicable New York State license.
  • If Nurse Practitioner, must be first-assist certified
• Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 1-year experience, although highly motivated new graduates with interest and abilities in surgery will be considered and are encouraged to apply.
• Must possess excellent communication skills and demonstrate an ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
