About This Position
BASIC FUNCTION: Responsible for the pre-verification of insurance for patients being admitted into Rehabilitation Services for care at our Clinic West Location in Parachute. The ideal candidate will have a certain degree of creativity and latitude, and will rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Obtain prior authorization for Medicaid patients.
- Ensures insurance coverage by telephone, fax, or email; resolves any issues with coverage and escalates complicated issues to a supervisor or manager.
- Interviews patients and completes all paper work necessary to ensure the admitting process is efficient and all hospital district and regulatory policies are in compliance.
- Will request additional authorization for worker’s comp patients as needed.
- Additional tasks may include confirming accurate posting of daily charges, scanning all orders, insurance, and fax confirmations into Cedaron and Meditech.
- Fax initial evaluations, progress notes, and discharges to providers.
- Assists with re-registration of patients as needed during the first of each month.
- Performs a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in area of specialty preferred.
- Current BLS certification required within 3 months of initial employment and maintained throughout employment.
- Bilingual English / Spanish preferred.
- 2 - 4 years of experience in the field or in a related area preferred.
SALARY INFORMATION:
- $20.37 - $22.13 Dependent on experience may vary outside this range
- Additional $2.00 - $4.00 an hour for additional weekend and night shifts
- Compensation may vary outside this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience
