About This Position
Seeking Education Facilitators to conduct parent education groups in an office, classroom setting.
The program is a family-centered curriculum designed to foster positive parenting skills and self-nurturing. The program features fun activities and exercises completed during the class and practiced at home to promote family time and positive brain development in children from birth to preschool. These classes are designed to teach practical skills to parents/caregivers and children. The program consists of two main components: parenting skills training, and family skills training.
Groups are designed to teach parents/caregivers:
- Self-awareness
- Positive self-esteem
- Empathy
- Alternatives to hitting and yelling
- Family communication and needs awareness
- Healthy physical and emotional development
- Appropriate role and developmental expectation
Schedule Requirements
Parenting sessions are conducted over 14 weeks, 1 evening per week, or 1 Saturday morning per week.
The 14-week cohorts will be offered in a hybrid format, meeting 10 sessions in-person & 4 sessions will be virtual
Week-day schedule is from 4:00 PM-8:00 PM, one night per week.
Weekend Schedule is from 9:00 AM-1:00 PM, Saturdays.
Typical time commitment during sessions, from conducting the class to preparation weekly is 5-10 hours/week.
Essential Duties
- Conduct Parent Education Groups
- Conduct observations, and provide coaching to the consumers.
- Follow program curriculum with modifications as appropriate.
- Conduct triage, engagement calls, and weekly updates to the referral source as required.
- Respond to court dates and subpoenas, when applicable.
- Prepare and maintain timely documentation and records in accordance with agency, state accreditation, and other requirements, policies, and procedures.
- Attend meetings and trainings as required.
- Maintain agency standards regarding confidentiality, quality, and productivity.
- Establish and maintain professional, collaborative relationships with the agency and community.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in human services; or equivalent education and/or experience, required.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as a team member.
- Knowledge of child development.
- Strong parenting skills, with the ability to coach on these skill areas.
- Strong communication skills.
- Technically proficient in Microsoft Office, (Word, PowerPoint,) Outlook, and virtual platforms such as Zoom.
- Ability to learn new technology and online systems quickly.
- Experience with virtual/online teaching, preferred.
- Understanding of the adult learner.
- Previous experience working with culturally diverse groups, desired.
- Experience in group facilitation, preferred.
- Ability to respond appropriately to the cultural differences present among the agency’s service population.
