JOB SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced Welder Technician for our Clewiston Farm location. In this role, you will be responsible for welding/fabricating the repairs to farm equipment, such as harvesters, pumps, farm implements, trailers, etc. The candidate should be experienced in various welding techniques, perform quality workmanship, and prioritize safety in all operations.
Requirements:KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform TIG, MIG and Stick welding on various farm equipment.
- Fabricate, modify, and repair farm machinery, pumps, and harvest equipment.
- Ensure all welding and fabrication work complies with sanitary design standards for food safety.
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to complete projects accurately.
- Conduct preventive maintenance and repairs on welding equipment to reduce equipment downtime.
- Cut, shape, and prepare metal components using various tools such as saws, grinders, plasma cutters, and torches.
- Follow OSHA safety protocols and farm safety policies while working with welding equipment and machinery.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
- Keep accurate records of completed work, inspections, and maintenance activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required; welding certification or vocational training preferred.
- Minimum 2–3 years of welding experience, preferably in an agricultural field.
- Proficiency in TIG, MIG, and Stick welding.
- Able to use cutting torches and plasma cutters.
- Strong knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy, and fabrication processes.
- Familiar with farm equipment plus.
- Able to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a farm/field environment.
- Certifications in AWS (American Welding Society) or related welding programs are preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS
- This role is performed in a shop and field environment.
- Work may take place in both indoor and outdoor areas, depending on maintenance or fabrication needs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to stand, bend, and work on feet for extended periods of time.
- Ability to work in various environmental conditions.
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity are required for precision welding and fabrication tasks.
- May involve climbing, kneeling, reaching, or working in confined spaces, depending on the project.
- Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
