POSITION: Loading Dock Coordinator
REPORTS TO: Materials Manager
APPROVED: Governing Body
JOB TYPE: Full-Time
OVERVIEW
The Loading Dock Coordinator plays a vital role in the efficient operation of the loading dock, ensuring the timely and accurate loading and unloading of supplies to support facility operations. This position involves coordinating the flow of equipment and supplies, maintaining compliance with transport regulations and safety standards, and supporting overall supply chain operations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (may include but are not limited to)
Operations:
- Load and unload cargo from delivery trucks, ensuring accurate handling and placement.
- Inspect incoming for accuracy, damage, or loss.
- Coordinate the flow of goods between the loading dock and the facility.
Compliance & Safety:
- Adhere to all regulations and health and safety standards.
- Ensure the loading dock area remains clean, organized, and free of hazards.
- Participate in safety inspections and report any unsafe conditions or practices.
Inventory & Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of shipments, including quantities, descriptions, and any noted damage.
- Monitor inventory levels as appropriate and notify appropriate personnel of discrepancies.
Problem Resolution:
- Address and resolve issues related to shipping delays, damaged goods, or inventory discrepancies.
- Communicate effectively with drivers, vendors, and internal staff to ensure timely delivery and receipt of goods.

SKILLS, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Previous experience in warehouse, logistics, or dock operations preferred.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills.
- Effective communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in logistics and inventory management software.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
