Position Summary
The Associate Program Manager supports the planning, execution, and delivery of commercial and defense programs to ensure contractual; schedule, cost, and performance objectives are achieved. This role works closely with the Director of Energetic Programs, other program managers, engineering, supply chain, quality, finance, and customers to coordinate program activities throughout the program lifecycle, from a request for material/service to contract award and through closeout.
Key Responsibilities
• Compliance with ITAR, DFAR, and any other relevant regulations and policies.
• Support all aspects of energetics programs.
• Track shipments and work directly with the GMP Log manager securing transportation and shipping means for energetic deliveries.
• Work with customers and suppliers ensuring correct unit measurements when accounting for material (ie. certain materials can only be transported wet, but customers require dry weight measurements). Familiarity with conversion factors of measuring units in metric and imperial formats.
• Operations support with day-to-day program activities; tracking tasks, active orders, requests and offers.
• Track and report on program cost, schedule, and technical performance.
• Maintain, monitor and report on program plans, schedules, risk registers, and action item trackers.
• Support business development efforts, capture of new programs.
• Other projects and work assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
• Candidates must be ITAR Authorized US Persons.
• Must be lawfully permitted and comfortable working in facilities that handle firearms and munitions.
• Passport and must be willing to travel on average 25 to 35%, both internationally and domestic, travel varies based on program needs.
• Technical or Business degree or certifications and training equivalent to that of a bachelor’s degree preferred. An equivalent to a minimum of 5 to 7 years of similar work experience can be substituted for degrees and certifications.
• Computer literate, experience with MS Office Suite and other software.
• Department of Defense, Defense Industry or Military Experience strongly preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
Work Environment
This role supports a hands-on approach in various settings to include but not limited to office, warehouse, laboratory, manufacturing facilities and field environments. Travel, both domestic and international, to manufacturing, test and Government sites are required. Attending and supporting the Company at trade shows and conferences is also required.
