Histology Assistant- Registry at Rush Copley Medical Center – Aurora, Illinois

Position Summary: Processes and accessions specimens for Anatomical Pathology. Processes and responds to inquiries for information about special handling, fixatives or specimen collection procedures. Participates in specimen preparation during certain surgical procedures.

Position Requirements:

• Minimum of a High school diploma
• Current skills with computers and keyboarding
• Ability to deal with occasional stress and high volume of work
• Good command of the English language
• Required to work with body parts and other biologically infectious material.
• Required to wear surgical garments and wear a face mask as needed.
• Must be able to focus and produce high quality work
• Must be able to take detailed instructions
