CDL Class A Delivery Truck Driver at General Trading Co. – Carlstadt, New Jersey

DESCRIPTION:

The CDL Delivery Driver (Class A) performs deliveries and pickups throughout our service and delivery area following safe practices. The Driver must be familiar with US DOT and FMCSA regulations concerning Hours of Service (HOS) and Vehicle Maintenance and Inspections. The CDL A Driver must have geographical knowledge of the NY/NJ delivery area and a 150 mile radius. The CDL A Driver must be able to operate company issued equipment including, but not limited to, material handling equipment, electronic delivery devices, liftgates and refrigerated equipment.

FUNCTIONS:

• Perform deliveries to our grocery customers following OSHA, US DOT and FMCSA regulations
• Perform Pre and Post trip inspections of equipment
• Operate refrigerated lift-gate equipped trailer of 45 to 53 ft in length
• Determine safe routes of travel and avoid bridges, tunnels and parkways when applicable
• Complete a Post Trip Inspection and HOS entries as required by company and federal regulations
• Operate electric pallet jack

REQUIREMENTS:

• 1-2 Years driving experience in a combination tractor trailer making deliveries in the New York City market.
• Must follow all OSHA , US DOT and FMCSA rules and regulations as it applies to vehicle maintenance and hours of service regulations.
• Must possess a valid CDL A License issued in New York or New Jersey, a valid medical card and pass a US DOT regulated drug screen.
• Must pass a road test.
