Freedom Ag & Energy is a farmer-owned cooperative serving communities across Virginia, West Virginia, and Maryland. We provide agricultural products, home and garden supplies, pet and animal health products, outdoor recreation items, and a rapidly growing energy division serving both residential and commercial customers.
Position Summary
Provides customers with friendly and efficient customer service while processing check-out, exchange and return transactions. Utilizes point of sale equipment which includes cash registers, handheld scanners, and credit/debit card terminals, effectively and ensures accuracy of transactions.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service
• Process check-out, exchange and return transactions, using point of sale equipment
• Proactively provides information to customers on products and store events
• Answer incoming telephone calls providing information regarding order status, product availability, current sales, promotions, and store events
• Resolve pricing and merchandise inquiries, identify selling opportunities
• Escalate complex issues to store leadership for assistance
• Monitors front end according to facility procedures to ensure a welcoming and secure environment.
Safety & Compliance
• Follow all company safety procedures as to not cause harm to yourself, customers, co-workers, equipment, or inventory.
• Utilize Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required. Operate all equipment according to FAE policy and government regulations. Comply with OSHA regulations, work rules and policies.
Schedule requirements will vary based on location. Extended hours and/or alternate work schedules may be required.
Qualifications
Required
• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Customer-focused communication skills,
• Prefer 6 months of experience in a retail environment providing excellent customer service and operating point-of-sales equipment.
• Prefer experience in agribusiness or a related field. Previous Freedom Ag & Energy work experience a plus.
