POSITION OVERVIEW:

Ready to level up your summer? Burn Boot Camp is looking for a high-energy, analytical, and technically curious Junior or Senior college student to join our team as a Business Intelligence & AI Intern. Based onsite at our Charlotte Metro HQ, this paid internship is your chance to dive straight into the action—partnering with marketing and operations to gather data requirements, deliver sharp reporting, and support the responsible adoption of AI tools across the business.


This is a hands-on role where you’ll build the dashboards, create the data extracts, and develop the educational materials that empower our teams to make smarter, faster decisions. RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Partner with marketing and operations teams to gather, clarify, and document business requirements for reporting, dashboards, and data analysis.
  • Build and maintain dashboards, scorecards, and self-service reporting in Domo to support business performance tracking and decision-making.
  • Write and modify SQL queries to extract, clean, validate, and analyze data from business systems and support ad hoc reporting requests.
  • Use AI tools to accelerate analysis, summarize findings, identify trends, and improve reporting workflows while following company data standards.
  • Create recurring and one-time data extracts for stakeholders, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and clear documentation of logic and definitions.
  • Translate business questions into actionable analysis and communicate insights, trends, and recommendations to cross-functional partners.
  • Help define and document standards for the effective and responsible use of AI tools across the organization.
  • Assist in developing AI-related data policies, governance guidelines, and best practices, including considerations for privacy, security, and appropriate use of company information.
  • Develop educational resources such as job aids, training decks, knowledge base content, and webinar materials to support the adoption of BI and AI tools.
  • Support the planning and delivery of internal training sessions or webinars focused on AI tools, reporting capabilities, and data literacy.
  • Stay current on emerging trends in business intelligence, analytics, and AI to recommend practical improvements for Burn Boot Camp.


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Currently enrolled in a degree program in business analytics, information systems, computer science, data science, marketing analytics, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical mindset with interest in business intelligence, reporting, data storytelling, and AI applications in the workplace.
  • Basic experience with SQL, spreadsheets, and data visualization tools; familiarity with Domo or similar BI platforms is a plus.

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a cross-functional team environment.
  • Experience with AI tools, prompt writing, dashboard development, or data governance concepts is a plus but not required.
