- Develop and maintain client-facing REST APIs, ensuring robust functionality and security
- Build backend services and integrations that abstract internal complexities and enhance client experience
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to refine requirements and improve software quality
- Enable new API features and provide data access to internal teams for product development
- Write and maintain technical documentation for systems, APIs, and integrations
- Monitor and implement best practices for security, authentication, and data protection
- Perform other duties as assigned to support team and organizational goals
Requirements:
- 5+ years of professional software engineering experience
- Expertise with Java and the Spring ecosystem
- Strong experience designing and developing RESTful APIs for external clients
- Solid software design and problem-solving skills
- Familiarity with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL
- Knowledge of modern security practices, authentication/authorization frameworks, and system/API hardening
- Experience with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and monitoring tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, DataDog, Sentry)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment
- Preferred: Experience with AWS, microservices, event-driven architectures, gRPC, containerization, and MongoDB
