This role offers the opportunity to advance your environmental engineering and compliance expertise while contributing to complex industrial and energy projects across multiple sectors. You will play a key role in ensuring projects comply with federal, state, and local environmental regulations, from permitting to mitigation and impact assessments. The position involves close collaboration with multi-disciplined project teams to develop strategies, conduct technical analyses, and implement solutions that balance regulatory requirements with project objectives. You will gain exposure to cutting-edge projects in power generation, renewable energy, and industrial facilities, while developing your technical knowledge and professional skills. The role allows for meaningful client interaction, site visits, and participation in peer learning and knowledge sharing initiatives. - Review, evaluate, and implement environmental regulatory requirements across federal, state, and local levels for diverse industrial and power projects
- Prepare site-specific environmental assessments, including impact studies for fossil fuel, nuclear, wind, solar, and transmission projects
- Collaborate with project engineers to ensure design and development align with environmental compliance and mitigation strategies
- Prepare permit matrices, applications, and interface with regulatory agencies to secure approvals
- Develop technical reports including site selection studies, environmental and social impact assessments, compliance audits, and regulatory reviews
- Provide guidance to associate staff and support multi-disciplinary project teams in achieving compliance and operational goals
- Participate in professional knowledge sharing, training, and Communities of Practice to advance environmental best practices
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field; Master’s preferred
- 5+ years of experience in environmental compliance, permitting, and impact assessment for complex industrial projects
- Familiarity with major environmental regulations including NEPA, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, RCRA, and Threatened & Endangered Species Act
- Experience with environmental permitting and assessments, including Phase 1 & 2 site assessments, Title V permits, NPDES, SWPPP/SPCC, and air permitting
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with project teams, clients, and regulatory agencies
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, coordinate inputs across teams, and provide technical guidance
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
- Valued but not required: proficiency in ArcGIS, GIS certification or coursework, and experience with AERMOD or environmental modeling software
