Hollowcore Saw Operator at Mack Industries Group – Vienna, Ohio

Mack Industries is looking to add a saw operator for our hollowcore division in Vienna, Ohio. As a saw operator you earn as you learn through our Mastery Program. This position requires one to cut, trim, and prepare precast hollowcore concrete slabs to specified lengths, angles, or openings using specialized concrete saws to ensure precise, high-quality cuts according to production blueprints. Also maintain machinery, and prioritize safety on the production floor.

Pay is based on experience, paid weekly!

Essential Functions

· Operate bridge saws, rail saws, or manual saws to cut hollowcore slabs to exact, specified dimensions

· Interpret technical drawings and work orders to determine cutting requirements

· Measure finished cuts with tape measures to ensure tolerances are met and inspect for damage

· Perform preventative maintenance on saws, including checking lubrication systems and changing blades

· Wear PPE and operate equipment according to company and safety guidelines

· Utilize overhead cranes or forklifts to position, stack, and move concrete slabs

Education and Training

• High School diploma or equivalent
• General knowledge of construction, concrete and/or carpentry a plus
• Experience with heavy industrial machinery, specifically concrete or stone cutting tools
• Strong ability to read tape measures and understand decimals/fractions
• Ability to read blueprints
• Forklift operation a plus

Minimum Qualifications

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to manage multiple operations at once
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Able to operate or learn how to operate power tools safely, accurately, and efficiently
• Ability or desire to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts and overhead cranes

Environment Conditions and Physical Strain

• Construction environment, seasonal weather conditions
• Due to the nature of the operation, the levels of noise, dust and dirt can be high
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs., on occasion
• Must be able to stand for extended periods of time
• Must be able to squat, crawl and kneel to complete tasks
