About This Position
Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and strategically minded Cost Accountant & FP&A Specialist to join our finance team. This hybrid role combines the essential functions of cost accounting with strategic financial planning and analysis. You will be responsible for understanding, analyzing, and reporting on costs, maintaining standards, as well as contributing to the overall financial health and strategic decision-making of the organization through budgeting, forecasting, and insightful analysis.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include analyzing and monitoring production and operational costs, maintaining and updating cost standards, conducting variance analysis, reviewing inventory levels, and preparing financial reports. This role will also involve collaborating on budgets and forecasts, building financial models (including acquisition analysis), analyzing financial data, and preparing management reports. You will collaborate closely with engineering, operations, purchasing, and product managers to maintain accurate bill of materials (BOM) and routings. This collaboration will help you ensure accurate cost data and support informed decision-making across the organization. You will leverage ERP systems for financial reporting and cost accounting, as well as Excel for advanced financial analysis, modeling, and reporting.
Requirements
A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance is typically required. Candidates should have experience in Cost Accounting and/or FP&A in manufacturing, with a strong understanding of relevant principles and proficiency in financial modeling and data analysis. Experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is essential. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including its data analysis tools and financial functions, is also crucial. Essential skills include analytical ability, critical thinking, problem-solving, attention to detail, business acumen, strategic thinking, and communication skills. The ability to work collaboratively and independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines is also necessary. A strong understanding of bill of materials (BOM) and routing processes is required.
