HVAC Commercial Project Manager at COMFORT FLOW HEATING CO – Springfield, Oregon

Position Summary:

Oversee day to day operations of commercial projects. Ensure that all projects are delivered on time and within scope by managing labor, scheduling, and material requisition.

WAGE: Depends on Experience

Essential functions and responsibilities:

• Order materials and equipment needed for each project
• Compile submittal and plan package for foreman
• Make visits to site throughout project to ensure smooth execution
• Schedule labor and adjust as needed throughout project
• Oversee 15-20 projects simultaneously an a continuous basis
• Assist in the handling of disciplinary action, coaching, and performance reviews
• Schedule start-up and controls, test and balance. Ensure everything is working properly prior to project close
• Complete close-out documentation
• Assist in handling personnel issues within department
• Interview, select, and set up training for new employees within commercial department
• Monitor job-site safety, communicate with safety committee as needed

Required Qualifications:

• Valid driver license and clean driving record, insurable by company insurance
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Proven experience in strategic planning and risk management
• Ability to react to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently
• Basic knowledge of job related safety requirements and procedures
• Ability to read and understand mechanical drawings, purchase orders and contracts
• Ability to prioritize and execute tasks
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen
• Education and experience:
• Minimum High School diploma, GED or equivalent
• 10+ years related construction experience
• Minimum 5 years previous HVAC experience
• Previous supervisory experience preferred
• Ability to read blue prints
• Excellent written and verbal English language communication skills
