Construction Materials Testing Laboratory Manager at Ninyo & Moore – Phoenix, Arizona

Job Description: Ninyo & Moore, a SOCOTEC Company has an immediate opening for a Laboratory Manager to run our geotechnical and construction materials testing lab in our Phoenix, Arizona office. The successful candidate will:

• Ensure thorough knowledge and proper application of standard test methods for asphalt, concrete, and soils testing

• Supervise, train, and mentor laboratory staff

• Maintain accurate and complete laboratory data and documentation

• Oversee laboratory certification, maintenance, and quality control

• Maintain and purchase laboratory equipment as needed

• Manage laboratory budget and control costs

• Oversee workflow and ensure efficient daily operations

• Communicate clearly with Project Managers regarding all aspects of lab activities

• Provide organized and orderly project documentation

Required Skills & Experience

• Experience in soils, asphalt, and concrete testing (or equivalent)

• 5+ years of relevant experience preferred

• Professional registrations or certifications preferred

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

• Strong organizational abilities and positive attitude

• Proven work ethic and reliability

• Must hold a valid driver’s license

Required Certifications

• R.G., P.G., or equivalent experience

• ACI Certifications:

  • Concrete Strength Testing Technician

  • Concrete Field Testing Technician – Grade I

  • Aggregate Testing Technician – Level 1

  • Aggregate Base Testing Technician

  • Aggregate Testing Technician – Level 2

  • Masonry Laboratory Testing Technician

• ATTI Certifications:

  • Asphalt

  • Soils/Aggregate
