Job Responsibilities as a Senior Counterparty Specialist:
- Subject matter expert on various counterparty relationships and applications including Investor, Agency, Coissuer, Warehouse, and Housing Authorities.
- Understanding of eNote relationships and applications and maintenance of those relationships.
- Ability to take ownership of counterparty projects and communicate clearly statuses of such on an ongoing basis both to internal teams and supported clients alike.
- Manage applications and maintain relationships with various investors, state housing agencies, federal agencies, financial institutions and other entities, on behalf of supported clients.
- Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual recertifications and renewals with multiple agencies and investors.
- Maintain information for supported clients, including third-party approvals, proof of insurance, financial statements, and organizational documentation.
- Act as a liaison between counterparties and supported clients by providing them with updated information and statuses, as requested.
- Respond to requests for information for internal and external audits, renewals, and other requests, as needed.
- Apply multitasking abilities while prioritizing tasks by importance and deadline, it is important to have the ability to adjust priorities as situations change.
- Perform other duties as assigned or as necessary.
Requirements
- Minimum five (5) years of mortgage lending counterparty experience. Bachelor’s degree, or five years related experience and / or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Strong background in managing a various array of counterparty relationships.
- Due to the sensitive nature of information and documentation handled by this position, candidates must possess a high degree of confidentiality and strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team to achieve department and company goals in a fast-paced environment, with competing priorities.
- Strong ability to organize, prioritize, coordinate and multi-task.
- Capability to adapt to sudden changes in priorities, flexibility in daily work plan.
- Must have effective communication skills and demonstrate excellent written/verbal communication skills with all levels of the organization.
- Ability to build and maintain solid relationships / partnerships with supported clients and employees at all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Customer service experience preferred.
- Mortgage or banking experience, is required.
- Initiative, drive, good judgment, and commitment to assuming a role of increasing responsibility.
