Assistant Accounting Manager
Assistant Accounting ManagerOrganization: Coastal Conservation Association Florida (CCA Florida)Job Type: Full-Time
Position OverviewThe Assistant Accounting Manager supports the Controller in managing daily accounting operations and ensuring accuracy across accounts payable, accounts receivable, financial reporting, deposits, payments, and inventory data management. This role requires strong technical accounting knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with multiple departments to maintain effective financial processes.
Essential Job FunctionsPerform general bookkeeping functions, including data entry and reconciliations.Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options and providing insights.Maintain accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.Process accounts payable and receivable transactions.Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for CCA Florida.Enter and maintain accurate inventory data (ingoing and outgoing).Input deposit and payment information into the accounting system and maintain records.File and organize deposits and payment documentation.Support inventory control system improvements and recommendations.Scan, copy, and digitize accounting files for recordkeeping.Provide general support to the Controller, Executive Director and accounting team as needed.Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesKnowledgeUnderstanding of accounting systems and data entry processes.Familiarity with office administration procedures and policies.Experience with accounting software and administration.Intermediate understanding of accounting and reporting standards; ability to research accounting issues.SkillsExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong time management and organizational skills.Effective internal customer service skills.High attention to detail.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.AbilitiesCommunicate effectively with the Controller and CCA Florida team.Multi-task and manage competing priorities.Take initiative and make sound inventory control recommendations.Accurately input and maintain financial data.Collaborate with multiple departments (warehouse, regional directors, COO, Executive Direct and accounting)Exercise initiative in financial, accounting, and general business finance recommendations.
Required Education & ExperienceBachelors Degree in Accounting or at least 4 years of full-cycle accounting experience (preferred).Ability to maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive financial information.
$45,000 - $55,000 biweekly
