Staff Accountant at EBS Recruiters LLC – St. Louis, Missouri

The Staff Accountant supports core accounting and financial reporting activities for a multi-location distribution organization, including general ledger maintenance, billing support, financial reporting, and month-end close. This role is well-suited for a detail-oriented, self-motivated professional who works well cross-functionally and can manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and post routine and recurring journal entries (accruals, prepaid expenses, depreciation, amortization, allocations, etc.)
• Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and research variances
• Support financial statements, operational reporting, and variance analysis
• Assist with billing accuracy, revenue cutoff, and related account research
• Process and reconcile intercompany transactions
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls
• Assist with internal and external audit requests
• Support ERP processes, system enhancements, and process improvements
• Perform ad hoc analysis and special projects as needed

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; MBA preferred
• 1–3 years of accounting experience
• Strong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups)
• ERP experience preferred (JD Edwards a plus)
• Business intelligence or reporting tool experience a plus (Power BI preferred)
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to manage priorities and meet close deadlines
• Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Collaborative, proactive self-starter with strong follow-through
