Field Operations Manager – Measurement & I&E at SOUTHERN PETROLEUM LABS – Artesia, New Mexico

We are seeking a proven, strategic Operations Manager to lead and strengthen our field measurement and I&E operations in Artesia, NM.

In this role, you will lead and manage daily measurement operations across multiple field crews and service territories, driving safe work practices, regulatory compliance, measurement accuracy, workforce accountability, and sustained operational performance.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands oil & gas measurement operations and can lead teams in a fast-paced field environment.

What You’ll Do

• Direct and oversee gas and liquid measurement operations across multiple crews and service areas
• Lead supervisory personnel responsible for frontline field technicians
• Ensure safe, compliant execution of custody transfer measurement services
• Maintain accountability for measurement accuracy, calibration verification, and data integrity
• Oversee workforce planning, scheduling, manpower allocation, and equipment deployment
• Monitor KPIs related to safety, productivity, measurement quality, and service delivery
• Serve as escalation point for operational issues, technical concerns, and client matters
• Manage operating budgets, expense controls, and resource utilization
• Support incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans
• Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and service reliability
• Perform other duties as assigned

What Makes You a Great Fit

• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
• 5+ years of leadership experience overseeing multi-site or regional oil & gas measurement operations and supervisory field teams
• Strong knowledge of measurement systems, instrumentation, and field operations
• Proven experience managing operational budgets and driving cost control
• Solid understanding of regulatory standards, measurement compliance, and industry best practices
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and general computer skills
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record

Work Environment & Travel Requirements

• Full-time role requiring regular presence in both field environments and onsite office operations
• Regional travel required (up to 50%)
• Ability to work extended hours and/or weekends as operational demands require
• Frequent driving to field locations and client sites
• Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions and industrial environments
• Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds as needed
