About This Position

Description:

The Competition Business Analyst will play a key role in evolving and innovating our groundbreaking golf experience, delivering a world-class competition environment throughout the TGL and WTGL seasons. Part of the TMRW Sports Technology Innovation team, this person will be responsible for enhancing our competition model, identifying new opportunities, refining features and continuously improving the player and fan experience through testing and iteration. This role will partner cross-functionally to provide real-time support across all competition operations roles, helping to manage match setup within competition software, coordinate testing for TGL hole designs and more.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the creation and management of TGL matches within competition software, working collaboratively with relevant teams to ensure these matches are published promptly and efficiently across all necessary platforms
  • Serve as an expert in every position within the Broadcast Competition Operations Area (BCOA), providing real-time support by filling operational roles as needed or troubleshooting issues during competitions and other TMRW Sports and TGL events
  • Lead the testing process for TGL hole designs, documenting and analyzing results while ensuring discoveries are efficiently communicated and integrated to optimize hole and course development
  • Partner with internal and external business stakeholders to create and maintain clear, user-focused documentation that outlines functional requirements, technical specifications, and the progress of technology projects—from planning and development through testing and implementation
  • Develop and deliver training materials, helping the internal game operations team, our players and more to adopt new technology solutions and processes
  • Invent and develop new products and lead that development from concept to launch
  • Deep proficiency across all aspects of TGL’s Competition Technology
  • Work with the competition team to create and distribute pre-match materials to teams and players
  • Run non-TGL events at SoFi Center involving competition technology
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in related field
  • Minimum of one year working in business analysis with experience in data manipulation, analysis, and visualization
  • Deep and comprehensive understanding of the game of golf, including its nuances, strategies, and key performance indicators
  • Solid grasp of TGL's unique rules, format, and competitive structure
  • Exhibit a strong technical foundation, with an aptitude for learning and utilizing new software and data platforms
  • Display a proactive and enthusiastic willingness to learn new skills and embrace evolving responsibilities within a dynamic environment
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities, with a clear focus on translating data insights for both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Creative problem solver and innovative mindset
  • Extreme comfort with ambiguity and change along with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment

Preferred

  • Experience working in sports, gaming, entertainment, or tech startup environments
  • Background in playing golf at a high level (collegiate or professional) strongly preferred
  • Proficiency in the use of AI tools and techniques to accelerate outcomes
