Remote Industrial Market Manager
Job Description
Status: Full-Time – Salary Exempt
Schedule: 45–55 hours per week (Monday–Friday; occasional weekends as needed for travel)
Reporting To: National Sales Manager
Location: Fully Remote – Anywhere in the United States
Position Summary
The Remote Industrial Market Manager is a growth-focused leadership role responsible for building, developing, and expanding the company’s Industrial Water & Wastewater business nationwide. This role combines strategic market development with management of an independent sales representative network to drive revenue and establish the company as a trusted solution provider across industrial sectors.
Success in this role requires a self-motivated, disciplined professional who can operate autonomously, travel strategically, and collaborate effectively with internal teams to support customers and translate opportunities into profitable growth.
The role has two primary objectives:
1. Grow Industrial Market Revenue – Build the industrial segment from near inception into a structured, revenue-producing business unit.
2. Develop and Manage an Independent Sales Representative Network – Recruit, onboard, and guide independent sales representatives to maximize market coverage and sales effectiveness.
The ideal candidate has established experience selling into industrial water and wastewater markets, deep knowledge of one or more key industrial segments, and a proven track record of growing territory revenue and managing rep networks.
Key Responsibilities
1. Industrial Market Growth & Strategy
• Develop and execute a nationwide strategic growth plan for assigned industrial sectors.
• Identify, qualify, and pursue opportunities in industrial wastewater and process water markets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with plant engineers, operations leaders, corporate engineering teams, consultants, and contractors.
• Review and interpret RFPs, specifications, mechanical drawings, and contract documents.
• Collaborate with internal teams to prepare accurate proposals, budgets, and project estimates.
• Maintain a robust opportunity pipeline and territory forecast.
• Gather competitive intelligence and voice-of-customer insights to inform business strategy.
2. Independent Sales Representative Network Development
• Recruit, evaluate, and develop high-performing independent sales representatives in strategic regions.
• Establish clear territory goals and performance expectations with each representative.
• Provide ongoing product training, technical guidance, and sales strategy support.
• Accompany representatives on client meetings, site visits, and industry events as needed.
• Ensure reps are effectively positioned within industrial markets and actively pursuing opportunities.
3. Travel & Field Engagement
• Travel up to 60–75%, depending on market and project activity.
• Conduct in-person client meetings, plant visits, and presentations to engineering firms and contractors.
• Represent the company professionally at industrial facilities, trade shows, and industry events.
• Participate in required corporate meetings, training sessions, and virtual collaboration via Microsoft Teams.
4. Internal Collaboration & Administration
• Maintain accurate CRM records of opportunities, forecasts, and client interactions.
• Provide timely sales reports, field updates, and budget documentation.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, marketing, and leadership teams.
• Support internal teams to ensure customers’ needs are met and projects are carried out successfully.
Required Qualifications
Education
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or related field OR equivalent industry experience.
Experience
• Minimum 5 years selling into industrial water and wastewater markets.
• Proven experience with at least one of the following sectors:
o Pulp & Paper
o Food & Beverage
o Power (Oil & Gas or Mining)
o Pharmaceutical
• Experience presenting to engineers, consultants, contractors, and plant stakeholders.
• Demonstrated success managing territory forecasts, budgets, and strategic growth plans.
• Experience building or managing an independent sales representative network.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical documents.
Technical Skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• CRM experience required.
• Strong proposal writing and technical communication skills.
Core Competencies
• Strong industrial sales acumen and commercial judgment.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to communicate technical concepts clearly.
• Self-motivated, disciplined, and capable of working independently in a remote environment.
• High level of professionalism and integrity.

• Fiscal responsibility in travel and budget management.
• Spanish fluency is strongly preferred.
Working Conditions
• Fully remote within the United States.
• Frequent travel to industrial facilities, including wastewater plants, mills, refineries, power plants, and manufacturing facilities.
• Must be comfortable working in industrial environments with noise, odors, variable temperatures, and uneven terrain.
• Valid driver’s license with insurable driving record required.
• Ability to sit, stand, travel, and navigate industrial sites for extended periods.
