School Security at Lincoln Leadership Academy Charter School – Allentown, Pennsylvania

Overview:
The School Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors at Lincoln Leadership Academy Charter School. This role plays a critical part in ensuring a safe school climate by monitoring campus activity, responding to incidents, and enforcing school safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

- Monitor entrances, exits, hallways, and campus grounds to ensure safety and prevent unauthorized access.
-Greet and screen all visitors in accordance with school procedures.
-Respond to incidents, disturbances, or emergencies and report them to appropriate personnel.
-Support school leadership in lockdowns, fire drills, and other emergency preparedness procedures.
-Build positive relationships with students and staff to promote a culture of respect and safety.
-Collaborate with administrators and local law enforcement when necessary.
-Document incidents and maintain daily security logs.
-Monitor security cameras and alarm systems if applicable.
-Deter and de-escalate conflicts using respectful and appropriate methods.
-Provide security support during school events, assemblies, and dismissal periods.
-Provide safety and supervision support during school-related events held outside of regular school hours

Qualifications
-High school diploma or equivalent required; additional training in security, law enforcement, or crisis management preferred.
-Prior experience in school security, law enforcement, or a related field preferred.
-Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure or emergency situations.
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
-Clearances Required: FBI Fingerprints, PA State Background Check, Child Abuse History Clearance, and a Physical Examination.
-All clearances must be dated within one year prior to the hire date.
