About This Position

PATIENT CARE TECHNICIAN

  • DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
    • A technician who assists the Emergency Department staff in carrying out a variety of patient care, clerical and procedural tasks for the patients presenting in the department.
  • QUALIFICATIONS
    • Professional/Educational
      • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
      • At least 17 years of age.
      • Currently Certified by IDPH as a CNA, currently licensed as an EMT/Paramedic, or equivalent experience required.
      • Certified by the American Heart Association in CPR required.
      • DCFS Mandated Reporter Certificate of Completion required.
    • Personal
      • Desire and ability to cooperate with and/or under the direction of others.
      • Possesses a sense of responsibility, initiative and honesty.
      • Ability to follow directions accurately.
      • Appreciation of and desire to be a part of a health care team dedicated to providing patients optimal care.
      • Possesses the ability to work under pressure.

Actual pay will be determined by qualifications, experience, and internal equity.
